A Day at Khanpur Dam

Khanpur Dam is one of the most underrated adventure spots near Islamabad. With crystal blue water, mountain views, and thrilling activities, it’s a perfect getaway for anyone looking for adrenaline and relaxation in one place.

Last weekend, we planned a trip to Khanpur Dam to explore water sports, paragliding, and cliff jumping — and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience.

🚗 How to Reach Khanpur Dam

• Distance from Islamabad: ~50 km
• Travel time: 1 to 1.5 hours
• Route: Islamabad → Taxila → Khanpur

💡 Tip: Start early morning to avoid rush and heat.

This was the highlight of the trip.

•    Price: PKR 3,000 – 5,000
•    Duration: 5–10 minutes

At first, everything was smooth… until mid-air.

😅 What happened: I actually got stuck mid-air for a few minutes due to wind changes. It was scary at first, but the instructor handled it professionally.

• Go with certified operators
• Don’t panic mid-air

🧗 Cliff Jumping (Adrenaline Level 🔥)

Cliff jumping was pure adrenaline.

• Height: ~20–40 feet
• Price: Usually included in activity package

💡 My experience: Standing at the edge was the hardest part. Once you jump — it’s pure thrill.
